Here is an outline of what I am going to be talking about (not necessarily in this order) on Tuesday, May 12, 2009:
- Power Point for Eagle AM. - Logo Designs for T-Shirts. - Piefest participation on Monday, May 11, 2009. - Events to do for the remainder of the year. - Fundraisers for next year.
Hopefully I can cram all of this into 10 (15 min) max.
Remember that nearly every email that I every address to all of the Strategy Club members is also posted on the forum, so if you somehow can't access your email, you have something to fall back on.
See you at the Star Trek movie tomorrow on:
May 11, 2009 (5/11/2009) AMC Lynnhaven 6:15pm (movie starts at 6:40pm)
and tomorrow the next day at Strategy Club.

For those who couldn't make it, or for those who just want a review of what I addressed, here is the outline, in between the dotted lines, copied and pasted right from the document. It did not copy the indentation thought. Sorry I talked for over 25 minutes. Maybe I should get somebody else (like the Piper) to say the announcements. He did take public speaking.
The last two meetings are on:
Tuesday, May 26, 2009 (5/26/2009) and Tuesday, June 9, 2009 (6/9/2009)
For the meeting on May 26, we will meet at Princess Ann park. It is only a short walk away from school, right behind the Sentara Hospital. Might do LARP-ing.

Notes for Strategy Club Joint Session: Tuesday, May 12, 2009 (5/12/2009) Time addressing (5-10 mins).
Topics addressed (not necessarily in this order):
A) Logo Designs for T-Shirts:
1) Cost 2) Size of logo (“Star Trek, right breast shaped.” logo sized) 3) When can we have it by?
B) Comedy Club Piefest on Friday, May 22, 2009; 2:30pm-5:00pm
1) Who in Strategy club wants to participate? 2) Who wants to pied in the face? 3) Who wants to find somebody (a teacher) to be pied in the face?
C) Events to do for remainder of year.
1) Tournaments (Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering, Chess) a) Could be used as a fundraiser. 2) LARP-ing (Live Action Role Playing) 3) Laser Quest. 4) Meeting with other Strategy related clubs 5) Paintball?
D) Fundraising for next year.
1) Tournaments? 2) Piefests? 3) Cashola, etc
E) Events for next year.
1)Officers for next year. 2) Tournaments (Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic the Gathering, Chess) a) Could be used as a fundraiser. 3) LARP-ing (Live Action Role Playing) 4) Laser Quest. 5) Meeting with other Strategy related clubs.
F) Afterword
1) A variety of strategy related games is important for the Strategy Club to stay as the “Strategy Club”. a) A bit TOO much Yu-Gi-Oh, need to try different things.
2) After playing Yu-Gi-Oh for a few months, I can see the reasons why it is addicting and fun to play. a) Easy to learn b) Can be played on almost any flat surface. c) Exercises important math/reading skills (to a certain extent). d) Nice way to meet new friends. e) Sentimental value. Always a card that seems to “fit” you.
3) But need to find other activities to do. a) Don't want new members for next year to think that Yu-Gi-Oh is all we do. 4) Communication is important for the club to survive, need to communicate on the forum and by email to know what is going on. We only meet once every 2 weeks. a) Nearly impossible to contact all members in person and tell them.
5) The club is only as fun as you make it, requires adequate amount of work to do that. a) “Fun” is a state of mind. b) Want the club to be fun and enjoyable for generations to come.
